The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. 감사한 하루
오늘 하루를 뒤돌아 볼 때 감사하다. 그 이유는 ...
1. 어느 한 부부의 큰 위기 가운데 주님께서 역사하고 계심으로 부인 자매가 자기 남편이 변화되고 있다고 이 메일로 연락이 왔기 때문이다. 비록 지금 그 온 가정이 매우 힘들겠지만 주님께서 그 가정의 가장인 남편 형제를 극심한 괴로움과 외로움과 아픔 속에서 부서트리고 계시고 그 형제를 사랑하셔서 마음 속부터 변화시켜주시고 계심을 나 또한 엿보기 있기에 기쁘고 감사하다.
2. 매주 월요일마다 온라인 zoom으로 사랑하는 대학교 후배들하고 기도 모임을 갖고 있는데 오늘 두 후배들과의 마음과 마음을 나누는 가운데 하나님의 사랑으로 사랑하는 후배들을 위해 간구하게 하셔서 감사하다.
3. 오늘 약 20년 만엔가(더 되었을 수도) 어느 사모님과 이 메일로 연락을 주고 받았다. 우리 부부의 첫째 아기가 죽었을 때 그 사모님 부부도 첫째 아기를 잃었기에 연락을 주고 받고 지낸 목사님 부부였는데 목사님이 이 세상을 떠나시고 우리도 한국으로 잠시 떠나는바람에 연락이 오랫동안 끊겼었다. 감사하게도 선배 목사님들을 통해 소식과 이 메일 주소를 받아 연락을 주고 받으면서 그 사모님의 가정도 4 자녀들을 선물로 받아 다 장성을 한 사진을 보고 감사하고 기뻤다.
