우리는 하나님의 지시에 믿음으로 순종해야 한다는 교훈을 받습니다 . 동방에서 온 박사들이 돌아간 후에 주님의 천사가 꿈에 요셉에게 나타나 “ 헤롯이 아기를 찾아 죽이려고 한다 . 너는 아기와 그의 어머니를 데리고 이집트로 피난 가서 나의 지시가 있을 때까지 거기서 기다려라 ” 하고 말했습니다 . 그래서 요셉은 밤에 아기 예수님과 그의 어머니 마리아를 데리고 이집트로 가서 헤롯이 죽을 때까지 거기 있었습니다 . 이는 주님께서 선지자를 통해 말씀하신바 “ 내가 이집트에서 내 아들을 불러 내었다 ” 하신 말씀을 이루려 하심이었습니다 ( 마태복음 2:13-15, 현대인의 성경 ). 하나님의 지시에 순종하여 딴 길로 자기 나라로 돌아간 동방 박사들처럼 요셉도 주님의 지시에 순종하여 아기 예수님과 그의 어머니 마리아를 데리고 이집트로 간 것을 생각할 때 저는 하나님의 지시에 우리는 믿음으로 순종해야 한다는 교훈을 받습니다 . 특히 헤롯왕이 예수님을 죽이려고 했을 때 동방 박사들이나 요셉이 하나님의 지시에 순종한 사실을 묵상할 때 예수님을 믿는 우리 그리스도인들을 핍박하고 죽이려고할 때에 우리는 하나님의 지시에 믿음으로 순종해야 한다는 교훈을 받습니다 . 그리할 때 우리는 놀라운 하나님의 구원을 경험할 것입니다 .
