The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. '설렘'이란 마음으로 느끼는 것, 머리로 생각하기에 앞서 감각으로 아는 것,
그러므로 왠지 마음이 설렐 때는 멋진 만남이 기다리고 있다고 생각하세요.
'설렘'을 느끼면 순순히 따라가 보세요.
거기에 있는 것은 자기 마음이 원하는 행복한 시간입니다.

새해 2006년도를 준비하고 있습니다. 새해를 바라보면서 나는 과연 설레는 마음이 있는가 자문해 봅니다. 사역 속에서 영적 감성이 좀 메말라 있는 것 같습니다. 부족한 기도 가운데, 기대감의 결핍도 없지 않나 있는 것 같습니다. 그러한 가운데서도 주님의 약속의 말씀인 마태복음 16장18절만 생각하면 마음이 설레입니다. 환경이나 자신을 바라보면 안그럴적이 많은데 하나님의 약속의 말씀만 생각하면 설레입니다. 주님께서 승리장로교회를 어떻게 세우실지 기도하며 기대하며 기다립니다. 그리고 이 기다림 속에서 제 마음을 더욱더 설레일 것입니다.
