하나님의 계명을 어기고 사람의 전통을 지키는 자들은 성경에서 시키지도 않은 말로 새 신자들을 괴롭히고 그들의 마음을 어지럽게 하지만, 성령님의 뜻대로 말하는 자들은 새 신자들에게 격려의 말을 하므로 그들을 기쁘게 합니다(마태복음 15:3; 사도행전 15:24, 31, 현대인의 성경).
