Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. " 하나님은 인간의 지혜, 능력, 문벌 등을 '폐하려' 하십니까?  그것은 이것들이 마치 인간들에게 구원을 가져다 있는 환상을 주어 인간들로 하여금 이들을 믿고 의지하게 하고, 진정한 구원자인 하나님을 믿고 의지하지 못하게 하기 때문입니다.   그들은 우상이 되어 그들을 소유한 인간들들 하여금 자신감과 자만심을 갖도록 하고 하나님을 믿고 의지하지 못하도록 하기 때문입니다" (참고: 고전 1:28).
