The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. 공동체를 원하고 있습니다. 서로 연결되어 사귐이 있길 원하고 있습니다. 지금 우리는 수평적인 관계를 갈망하고 있습니다. 그러나 지금 주님은 우리에게 수직적인 관계를 원하고 계십니다. 주님은 우리와 사귐이 있길 갈망하고 계십니다. 주님은 우리와 일대일로 친밀한 교제를 갖고 싶어하십니다. 그러므로 우리는 스스로 광야로 들어가야 합니다. 모든 만남과 모든 것을 내려놓고 나만의 조용한 시간에 조용한 장소에서 조용한 마음으로 주님께 겸손히 나아가야 합니다. 하나님의 말씀을 통하여 주님의 부드러운 음성을 들어야 합니다. 아빠 아버지 하나님께 간구하는 가운데 하나님의 임재를 경험해야 합니다. 그러므로 우리의 마음이 변화되어 우리는 주님의 마음으로 우리 이웃에게 다가가야 합니다. 우리는 주님의 사랑으로 이웃과 연결되고 교제를 가져야 합니다. 주님 중심된 공동체를 세우는데 헌신해야 합니다.
