Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. Jesus' Response to Peter's Action: (a) Jesus said: “Permit even this.” ( Luke 22:51, KJV: “Suffer ye thus far”; RSV: “No more of this” ) The Greek words clarify this: “ἕως τούτου” (“heōs toutou”) = “up to this point” or “even this” “ἐᾶτε” (“eate”) = “allow it,” “let it be,” “leave it alone” Therefore, Jesus is essentially saying: “Let them do what they are doing. “ 좁은 문으로 들어가라 ” [ 마태복음 7 장 13-14 절 말씀 묵상 ] 여러분 , 여러분은 “ 예 ” 할 때 “ 예 ” 하시고 “ 아니오 ” 할 때 “ 아니오 ” 를 잘 하십니까 ? 마태복음 5 장 37 절을 보면 예수님께서는 우리에게 이렇게 말씀하고 계십니다 : “ 오직 너희 말은 옳다 옳다 , 아니라 아니라 하라 이에서 지나는 것은 악으로부터 나느니라 ”( Simply let your 'Yes' be 'Yes,' and your 'No,' 'No'; anything beyond this comes from the evil one ). 제가 이 말씀을 생각하게 된 이유는 지난 주 목요일 새벽기도회 때 에스라 4 장 3 절 말씀을 묵상하다가 박윤선 박사님의 에스라 4 장 1-3 절 주석 해설을 보면서 이러한 깨달음이 있었기 때문입니다 . “ 영적 공통성을 갖고 있지 않은 자가 함께 하자고 할 때에 결단성 있는 거절 행위는 성경적입니다 .” 물론 에스라 4 장 3 절 중심으로 묵상한 말씀에는 " 유댜와 베냐민의 대적 " 들 (1 절 ) 이 유다와 베냐민 지도자들에게 " 우리도 너희같이 너희 하나님을 찾노라 ", " 우리가 하나님께 제사를 드리노라 "(2 절 ) 고 말하였지만 그들이 찾고 그들이 제사를 드린 하나님은 이스라엘의 하나님 ( 유일신 ) 이 아니었기에 이스라엘 지도자들은 " 우리 하나님의 성전을 건축하는 데 너희는 우리와 상관이 없 " 다고 단호하게 거절한 것입니다 . 이렇게 이스라엘 지도자들의 단호한 거절 행위로 말미암아 그로부터 (4 절 ) 그들은 환난과 핍박을 당합니다 ...
