우리의 허물과 죄악 때문에 ... 뉴스를 통해서  법정 판결이 " 사형 " 이란 소식을 들으면  우리는 그 사형수에 대하여  사형 받을 만한 죄를 범했다고 생각합니다 .   아마 어느 누구도  그 사람이 사형을 당하는 것이  자기 죄 때문이라고 생각하는 사람은 없을 것입니다 .   예수님 당시 유대인들이 그랬습니다 .   그들은 예수님이 마땅히 십자가에 죽어야 한다고 생각했습니다 .   그들은 예수가 신성모독 죄와 성전모독 죄로  하나님께 저주를 받아  마땅히 십자가에 죽어야 한다고 생각했습니다 .   그러나 죄 없으신 예수님은  우리의 허물과 죄악 때문에  십자가에 죽으셨습니다 ( 이사야 53 장 5 절 ).
