하나님 아버지는 누구를 더 기뻐하신 것일까?  " 하나님께서 기뻐하신다면 이제 ( 십자가에 못박힌 예수를 ) 구원하실 테지 " 라고 대제사장들과 서기관들과 장로들은 말했습니다 ( 마태복음 27:43, 현대인의 성경 ).   그러나 하나님 아버지의 뜻은 " 내 사랑하는 아들이요 내 기뻐하는 자 "( 마태복음 3:17) 인 하나님의 아들 예수 그리스도를 십자가에서 구원하시므로 살리시지 않으시고 , 대신 영적으로 죽었고 또한 영원히 죽을 수 밖에 없었던 우리를 사랑하시고 기뻐하시므로 구원하시사 영원한 생명을 주셨습니다 .
