We are taught that we must become upright people who, in God’s sight, are blameless and fully keep His commandments. “In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly” [(Modern Translation: “When Herod was king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah of the division of Abijah, and his wife Elizabeth also came from the family of Aaron. They were righteous before God and faithfully kept all the Lord’s commandments and regulations without fault”)] (Luke 1:5–6). While meditating on this passage, I would like to draw out the lessons given to us: (1) The author of Luke’s Gospel, Luke, first wrote to Theophilus about John the Baptist’s parents. 자기 부인 안하고 예수님을 부인하고 있다? 하나님의 일을 생각하지 않고 사람의 일을 생각하고 있었던 베드로는 예수님을 따르기 위해서는 자기를 부인하고 자기 십자가를 지고 예수님을 따랐어야 했는데 ( 막 8:33-34) 예수님이 잡히셨을 때 멀찍이 예수님을 따라 대제사장의 집 바깥 뜰에서 예수님을 세번이나 부인했습니다 ( 마 26:47-75). 자기를 부인하고 예수님을 따라야 할 제자가 예수님을 부인한 것입니다 . 지금 내가 그러고 있는 것은 아닌지 뒤돌아 봅니다 .
