We are taught that we must become upright people who, in God’s sight, are blameless and fully keep His commandments. “In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly” [(Modern Translation: “When Herod was king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah of the division of Abijah, and his wife Elizabeth also came from the family of Aaron. They were righteous before God and faithfully kept all the Lord’s commandments and regulations without fault”)] (Luke 1:5–6). While meditating on this passage, I would like to draw out the lessons given to us: (1) The author of Luke’s Gospel, Luke, first wrote to Theophilus about John the Baptist’s parents. 순전한 그리스도인 주님께서 고난을 통하여 ( 사 48:10) 내 안에 모든 불순물을 제하시사 순수하게 만들어 주시길 기원합니다 . 순수한 그리스도인이 되길 원합니다 . 순수하게 만들어 주시되 주님께서는 내 마음을 연단하여 주시사 ( 잠 17:3) 내 마음의 모든 불순한 것 ( 마 15:18-19) 을 제하여 주시길 기원합니다 . 순전한 마음을 사모합니다 . 주님께서 찌끼와 혼잡물과 같은 나의 미음 ( 사 1:25) 을 고난의 용광로를 통하여 정화시키시사 순금같게 하시길 기원합니다 . 순금같은 믿음 , 순전한 믿음을 갇기를 원합니다 . 주님께서 하나님의 순전한 말씀으로 나를 깨끗게 하여 주시 기원합니다 ( 잠 30:5; 참고 : 시 12:6). 순전한 그리스도인이 되어 주님께서 쓰시는 합당한 도구가 되길 기원합니다 ( 딤후 2:21).
