주님께서 고난을 통하여(사48:10) 내 안에 모든 불순물을 제하시사 순수하게 만들어 주시길 기원합니다. 순수한 그리스도인이 되길 원합니다. 순수하게 만들어 주시되 주님께서는 내 마음을 연단하여 주시사(잠17:3) 내 마음의 모든 불순한 것(마15:18-19)을 제하여 주시길 기원합니다. 순전한 마음을 사모합니다. 주님께서 찌끼와 혼잡물과 같은 나의 미음(사1:25)을 고난의 용광로를 통하여 정화시키시사 순금같게 하시길 기원합니다. 순금같은 믿음, 순전한 믿음을 갇기를 원합니다. 주님께서 하나님의 순전한 말씀으로 나를 깨끗게 하여 주시기원합니다(잠30:5; 참고: 시12:6). 순전한 그리스도인이 되어 주님께서 쓰시는 합당한 도구가 되길 기원합니다(딤후2:21).
