힘에 겹도록 심한 고난을 당할 때 우리는 살 소망까지 끊어져 마치 우리가 사형선고를 받은 것 같은 줄 압니다.  하나님의 뜻은 우리로 하여금 우리 자신을 의지하지 말고 오직 죽은 자를 다시 살리시는 하나님만 의지하게 하는 것입니다(고린도후서 1:8-9).
