예수님께서는 우리에게도 "아직도 깨닫지 못하느냐"고 말씀하십니다(막8:17, 21). 그 이유는 예수님께서는 우리에게 떡이 없어서가 아니라(16절) 바리새인과 사두개인들의 교훈을 조심하라고(마16:12) "경고"하신 것인데(막8:15) 우리는 마음이 둔하여(17절) 아직도 깨닫지 못하고 있기 때문입니다(17, 21절).
우리는 깨달아야 합니다. 우리는 예수님의 경고를 듣고 깨달아야 합니다. 우리는 바리새인들처럼 형식주의 및 외식주의와 사두개인들처럼 세속주의 및 물질주의를 조심해야 합니다.
