Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 하나님 앞에서 우리의 의무를 감당해야 하는데 ... 하나님은 다윗을  사울 왕의 손에 넘기지 않으셨는대도 불구하고  십 사람들은 다윗을  사울 왕의 손에 넘기는 것이 자기들의 의무라고  사울 왕에게 말했습니다 .   그 때 사울 왕은 십 사람들에게  " 여호와께 복 받기를 원하노라 " 고 말했습니다 ( 사무엘상 23:14, 20-21).   하나님을 두려워하기 보다 사람을 두려워하므로  하나님의 뜻을 행하는 의무를 감당하지 않고  그 사람의 뜻을 행하는 것을 자기 의무로 여기므로  그 사람에게 축복의 말을 듣는 것이 무슨 의미가 있습니까 ?
