We are taught that we must become upright people who, in God’s sight, are blameless and fully keep His commandments. “In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly” [(Modern Translation: “When Herod was king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah of the division of Abijah, and his wife Elizabeth also came from the family of Aaron. They were righteous before God and faithfully kept all the Lord’s commandments and regulations without fault”)] (Luke 1:5–6). [ 제임스 패커의 " 견고한 크리스천 " 에서 ] 우리는 다민족 사회 (pluralistic society) 에서 살아가고 있다 . 이러한 다민족 사회에서 두드러지게 나타나는 현상 중에 하나는 바로 다원주의 (pluralism) 이다 . 다원주의란 “다른 모든 가치들 위에 군림하는 특정가치 , 중심가치를 인정하지 않고 저마다의 다양한 가치가 인간 삶의 본질이라고 보는 철학방법론” ( 야후사전 ) 으로써 사람들은 다양한 신들을 섬기며 숭배하고 있다 . 이것을 가리켜 종교 다원주의 (religious pluralism) 라고 한다 . 유대교·그리스도교·이슬람교·힌두교·불교·유교 등의 각 종교가 타종교에 대해 취하고 있는 태도가 바뀌고 있다 . 각 종교가 타종교에 대해 나름대로 존중한다고 하면서 이젠 더 이상 자기 종교에만 구원이 있다고 말하고 있지 않다 . 하나님을 믿던 , 예수를 믿던 , 모하마드를 믿던 석가모니를 믿던 각 종교에 구원이 있다고 인정하고 있는 것이다 . 놀라운 것은 예수님만을 믿어야 구원을 얻는다는 기독교의 유일신앙도 무너지고 있는듯 하다 . 이젠 더 이상 성경의 하나님만 믿어야 구원을 얻는다고 기독교조차도 담대히 선포하고 있지 못하는듯 하다 . 그 이유 중 하나는 기독교가 배타주의적이다는 ...
