Those who envy and
oppose us will do whatever they can ...
The
other two governors and officials,
who
could not find any fault with Prime Minister Daniel,
believed
that unless it involved Daniel's religion,
they
had no way to find any wrongdoing
on
his part and bring charges against him.
Therefore,
they went to King Darius and said,
"All
the governors, satraps, administrators, advisors,
and
officials of the kingdom have consulted together
and
agreed to request that the king establish a decree and enforce a law."
They
requested that a decree be issued stating,
"For
the next 30 days, anyone who petitions any god or man
besides
the king shall be thrown into the lions' den"
(Daniel
6:4-7).
As I
reflect on this passage,
it
occurs to me that those who envy and oppose us
(for
example, anti-Christians) will do whatever they can
to
find fault with us, either by accusing us of wrongdoing
or by
posting it online to try to bring us down or even bury us socially.
However,
if we are living our work, church, or family lives so well
that
they cannot find any fault or wrongdoing,
they
will certainly try to find a way
to
attack us through our Christian faith.
