The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. "아니오"라고 거절할 줄 아는 자가 되고 싶습니다.
"아니오"면 "아니오"라고 말할 줄 알아야 하는데, 아무리 사랑하고 가까운 사람이라 할지라도 거절해야 할 때는 거절해야 하는데, "아니오"라고 용기를 내서 담대하게 말하지 않는 내 자신의 모습을 봅니다. 그 결과 나는 먼저 하나님께 죄를 범할 뿐만 아니라 사랑하고 가까운 사람까지도 죄를 범하도록 방관하는 죄를 범하였습니다. 사랑하고 가까운 사람의 말보다 사랑의 하나님의 말씀을 듣고 그 하나님의 말씀에 견고히 서서 그 말씀에 이끌림을 받고 싶다. 그러므로 하나님의 말씀에 어긋난 말을 사랑하는 사람이 나에게 할 때에 "아니오"라고 지혜롭게 그러면서 단호하게 거절할 수 있는 내가 되고 싶다.
