고난 중에서 슬퍼하고 실망하는 이유는 소망이 없기 때문입니다.  하나님의 영광에 참여할 것이라는 소망의 확신을 가지고 있는 그리스도인은 고난 중에서 주님을 갈망하며 소망하므로 감사하며 즐거워 합니다(로마서 5:2-5, 현대인의 성경).
