A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. 고단한 인생길을 걸어갈 때마다 주님께서 주시는 위로에 힘을 얻게 된다. 우리가 존경하는 성경의 인물 대부분이 고난 속에 신실하신 하나님을 만난 사람들이다. 아브라함, 야곱, 요셉, 모세, 욥, 다니엘, 에스더 등등. 이들이 위대했던 이유는 고난 가운데에서도 하나님을 끝까지 붙들었기 때문이다.
고난(근심, 걱정)이 없는 삶을 위해 기도했지만, 하나님께서는 우리를 주님의 장성한 분량까지 성장시키시려고 우리에게 고난을 허락하신다. 고난이 없기를 기도하기 보다, 고난을 잘 통과하도록 기도해야겠다.
주님! 삶 속에 만나는 다양한 어려움 속에 우리를 위로하시고 힘주시는 주님을 뜨겁게 만나게 도와주세요. 우리의 부르짓는 기도를 들으시고 응답해 주세요. 예수님 이름으로 기도드립니다. 아멘!"
