A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. 진짜 탕자는 맏아들? 집을 나간 자식이 다시 집으로 돌아오기만을 기다리는 것이 부모님의 마음입니다. 그래서 부모님은 그 자녀를 위하여 매일 매일 하나님께 기도하며 돌아오기만을 기대하면서 기다리고 기다립니다. 그 좋은 성경적인 예가 바로 누가복음 15장에 나오는 “탕자의 비유”입니다(11-32절). 그 비유에 나오는 아버지는 탕자인 둘째 아들이 아버지에게서 자기 분깃으로 받은 자기 재산을 다 모아 가지고 먼 나라에 갔을 때(12-13절) 그 아들이 돌아오기만을 기다렸습니다(20절). 그러다가 그 아버지는 자기의 둘째 아들이 궁핍함 가운데서(13-17절) 자신의 죄를 뉘우치는 마음으로 아버지께로 돌아왔을 때 멀리서 그 아들이 집으로 돌아오는 것을 보고 축은히 여겨 달려가 그 아들의 목을 안고 입을 맞췄습니다(20절). 그리고 그 아버지는 종들에게 제일 좋은 옷을 내어다가 그 아들에게 입히고 손에 가락지를 끼우고 발에 신을 신기라고 말했을 뿐만 아니라 살진 송아지를 끌어다가 잡아서 함께 먹고 즐기자고 말했습니다(22-23절). 그 이유는 그 아버지는 자기 아들을 잃었다가 다시 얻었고(찾았고) 죽었다가 다시 살았기 때문입니다(24절). 저는 여탯것 이 탕자의 비유를 생각할 때 아버지의 입장에서 돌아와야 할 아들은 집 나간 둘째 아들이라고만 생각했었습니다. 그런데 저는 오늘 본문 예레미야 26장 3, 13절 중심으로 하나님의 말씀을 묵상하다가 어쩌면 그 탕자의 비유에서 진정으로 돌아와야 할 아들은 맏아들이란 생각이 들었습니다. 제가 그리 생각하게 된 이유는 둘째 아들은 자신의 죄...
