불륜의 관계를 맺지 않기 위해선, 우리는 배우자 외에 다른 이성을 가까이 하지 말고 멀리해야 합니다(잠5:8). 특히 우리 부부 관계의 틈을 비집고 들어올 가능성이 있는 그 다른 이성을 말입니다. 우리는 탐심을 매우 경계해야 합니다(출20:17). 우리 안에 욕심이 있으면 우리는 우리 배우자의 품을 만족하게 여기지 않고(잠5:19) 분수에 넘치게 다른 이성을 쳐다보고(전1:8) 생각하고 그/녀의 말에 귀를 기울에게 됩니다. 우리는 서로 용서하면서 살아야 합니다(골3:13). 주님께서 우리를 용서하시듯이 우리는 우리 배우자를 용서하고 용납해야 합니다. 만일 서로 용서하지 않고 우리 배우자를 향한 불만을 쌓이고 쌓이면 서로 용납하지 않고 용서하기를 거부하는 가운데 우리 부부 관계는 점점 더 악화될 것이고 그러다 결국 우리는 다른 이성에게 관심을 갇게 될 확률이 많습니다. 우리는 부부 문제와 갈등을 주님 안에서 해결해 나아가려는 힘든 노력보다 문제와 갈등이 곪도록 그냥 넘어가든지 내버려 두는 편한한 길을 선택하면 아니됩니다.
