The Inseparable Love of God (1) [ Romans 8:38-39 ] Why can nothing separate us from the love of God? 1. Because God’s love is eternal. Romans 8:29a says: “For those whom He foreknew…” The word “foreknew” refers to before eternity began —before the creation of heaven and earth . The phrase “those whom He foreknew” does not simply mean knowing about someone intellectually, but rather loving them. In other words, it refers to “those whom God loved from eternity past.” Amos 3:2a says: “You only have I known of all the families of the earth.” If “known” merely meant intellectual knowledge, that would imply that God only knew Israel and did not know the other nations—which cannot be true, because the all-knowing God lacks knowledge of nothing. Therefore, “I have known you only” means “I have loved you only.” God loved Israel among all the nations of the earth. “ 쉬지 않고 여러분을 위해 기도하고 있습니다 ” (3) 사도 바울은 통해 골로새 교회의 신실한 성도들이 그리스도 예수님을 잘 믿고 모든 성도를 사랑한다는 소식을 에바브라 를 통해 들은 후부터 그들을 위하여 기도하기를 그치지 않고 ( 쉬지 않고 ) 하나님께 기도했습니다 ( 골 1:4-5, 9). 그 기도 내용의 핵심은 하나님께서 그 성도들에게 하나님의 뜻을 아는 지식으로 채워 주시길 기도한 것입니다 . 흥미로운 점은 바울은 그들에게 편지를 쓰기 시작하면서 “ 하나님의 뜻 으로 말미암아 그리스도 예수의 사도 된 바울 ”(1 절 ) 이라고 말씀했는데 ( 골로새서 외에 다른 4 개의 편지로 시작에 “ 하나님의 뜻으로 말미암아 ” 자기가 “ 사도 ” 되었다고 말씀했음 ) 이 사실을 바울에게 처음으로 알려준 사람이 바로 아나 니아였습니다 ( 행 22:14-15). 또 한가지는 , 바울만 골로새 교회 성도들을 위하여 쉬지 않고 기도를 하나님께 드린 것이 아니라 에바브라도 그들이 하나님의 뜻을 확신하고 굳게 서서 성숙한 신앙 생활을 하게 해달라고 언제나 열심히 기도했습니다 ( 골 4:12). 우리도 하나님의 뜻을 아는 지식으로 채워 주시길 쉬지 않고 하나님께 기도하면서 또한 그 하나님의 뜻대로 살아가기를 쉬지 않고 기도해야 합니다 .
