우리가 교만하여 거만하게 행하고 있을 때 ... 벨사살 왕이 교만하여 거만하게 행하고 있었을 때 갑자기 하나님이 사람의 손가락으로 “ 메네 메네 데겔 우바르신 ” 란 글을 쓰게 하셨습니다 . 왕은 그것을 지켜보다가 너무 무서워 얼굴이 창백 해지며 다리를 후들후들 떨었습니다 . 그래서 그는 크게 소리를 질러 점쟁이와 마법사와 점성가를 불러오게 하여 바빌론의 이 박사들에게 “ 누구든지 이 글자를 읽고 그 뜻을 나에게 말하는 자에게는 자색 옷을 입히고 그 목에 금사슬을 걸어 주며 그를 나라의 제 3 인자가 되게 할 것이다 ” 라고 말했습니다 . 그러나 그 박사들 가운데 그 글자를 읽거나 해석하는 자가 한 사람도 없었습니다 . 그 때 벨사살 왕의 어머니가 왕의 아버지인 느부갓네살 왕의 때에 영리하고 총명하여 신들의 지혜와 같은 지혜를 가진 자로 알려진 다니엘을 소개했고 다니엘은 벨사살 왕에게 그 글 “ 메네 메네 데겔 우바르신 ” 의 뜻을 해석해 줬습니다 ( 다니엘 5:1-16, 24-26, 현대인의 성경 ). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 우리가 교만하여 거만하게 행하고 있을 때 하나님께서 성령님의 검인 하나님의 말씀 ( 에베소서 6:17) 을 통해서 우리에게 말씀하시사 우리가 그 말씀을 대할 때 그 말씀으로 말미암아 우리에게 떨림이 있게 하시고 ( 이사야 66:5) 또한 우리 마음에 찔림이 있게 하시길 기원합니다 ( 사무엘상 24:5; 사무엘하 24:10; 사도행전 2:37). 그리고 내주하시는 성령님께서 우리로 하여금 하나님 앞에 스스로 겸비하게 하시고 ( 다니엘 10:12) 또한 우리의 죄를 회개하게 하시사 ( ...
