‘You may know that you have eternal life.” (5) [1 John 5:13-21] In today's text 1 John 5:13, the Apostle John explains the purpose of why he is writing this letter to the recipients. Its purpose is that “you who believe” in Jesus Christ, “the Son of God,” may “know that you have eternal life” (v. 13).
