What Is Biblical Mission?

A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. Interesting similarities between the Gospel of John and 1 John

Interesting similarities between the Gospel of John and 1 John

Interesting point:

When Apostle John began writing the letter of 1 John,

he talked about Jesus Christ as the Word of life (v. 1)

and the eternal life (v. 2), who is truly God.

At the conclusion of writing 1 John 5:20,

he reiterated that Jesus Christ, who is truly God, is the eternal life.

Similarly, when we look at the Gospel of John,

also written by the same author, it begins in chapter 1:1, stating,

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,

and the Word was God."

And the conclusion of the Gospel, John 20:31,

emphasizes the purpose of recording these things,

which is to lead people to believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God,

and that by believing, they may have life (eternal life) in His name.

Upon examining these two books, the Gospel of John and 1 John,

it seems that Apostle John started with Jesus Christ, who is truly God,

and had the purpose of leading people to eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ,

which he expressed in both the Gospel of John and 1 John.
