Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. Interesting similarities
between the Gospel of John and 1 John
Interesting point:
When Apostle John began writing the letter of 1
John,
he talked about Jesus Christ as the Word of life
(v. 1)
and the eternal life (v. 2), who is truly God.
At the conclusion of writing 1 John 5:20,
he reiterated that Jesus Christ, who is truly
God, is the eternal life.
Similarly, when we look at the Gospel of John,
also written by the same author, it begins in
chapter 1:1, stating,
"In the beginning was the Word, and the
Word was with God,
and the Word was God."
And the conclusion of the Gospel, John 20:31,
emphasizes the purpose of recording these
things,
which is to lead people to believe that Jesus is
the Christ, the Son of God,
and that by believing, they may have life
(eternal life) in His name.
Upon examining these two books, the Gospel of
John and 1 John,
it seems that Apostle John started with Jesus
Christ, who is truly God,
and had the purpose of leading people to eternal
life through faith in Jesus Christ,
which he expressed in both the Gospel of John
and 1 John.
