God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 우리 부모들이 먼저 지금까지 해 온 대로 주님만 따르고 섬기길 기원합니다(참고: 여호수아23:8, 현대인의 성경). 그리고 우리 자녀들도 변질되지 않고 신실하게 주님만 따르고 섬기길 기원합니다. 그러기 위해선 우리 모두가 성경책에 기록된 하나님의 말씀을 주야로 묵상하며 하나님의 계명을 힘써 지켜 행하고 조금도 이탈하지 말아야 합니다(6절, 현대인의 성경; 참고: 1:8). 우리는 스스로 조심하여 하나님을 사랑해야 합니다(11절). 우리 모두가 직접 경험한 하나님께서 우리를 위하여 행하신 모든 일(24:31; 사사기 2:7)을 기억하고 기념하면서 주님만 따르고 섬길 수 있길 기원합니다. 그러므로 우리 모두가 예수님만 섬기는 식구가 되어 복되고 즐거운 하루하루가 되길 간절히 기원합니다.
