받은 은혜에 감사하지 않는 마음은 이미 교만해진 마음입니다. 모든 나라가 히스기야 왕을 우러러보게 되었을 때 그는 병들어 죽게 되었습니다 . 그래서 그가 하나님께 기도하자 하나님께서는 그의 기도에 응답하시고 그에게 병이 나으리라는 표적을 주셨습니다 . 그런데도 히스기야는 마음이 교만하여 자기가 받은 은혜를 고맙게 여기지 않았습니다 ( 역대하 32:23-25, 현대인의 성경 ). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 “ 그러므로 선 줄로 생각하는 사람은 넘어질까 조심하시시오 ” 라는 고린도전서 10 장 12 절 현대인의 성경 말씀이 생각났습니다 . 또한 저는 우리 마음이 교만해지면 우리는 하나님께 받은 은혜를 고맙게 여기지 않는다는 것을 생각하게 되었습니다 . 달리 말한다면 , 받은 은혜에 감사하지 않는 마음은 이미 교만해진 마음이라 생각합니다 .
