A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. “ 내가 긍휼을 원하고 제사를 원하지 아니하노라 ” 건강한 사람에게는 의사가 필요 없고 병든 사람에게만 의사가 필요합니다 . 예수님께서는 “ 바리새인들 ” 과 같은 의인을 부르러 이 세상에 온 것이 아니라 그 바리새인들이 말하는 “ 죄인 ” 을 부르러 오셨습니다 . 그래서 예수님께서는 마태를 부르셔서 “ 나를 따르라 ” 고 말씀하신 후 그의 집에서 “ 많은 세리와 죄인들 ” 과 함께 식사를 하신 것입니다 . 이렇게 예수님은 죄인들에게 긍휼을 베푸셨습니다 . 그리고 예수님께서는 우리에게도 이렇게 말씀하셨습니다 : “ 내가 긍휼을 원하고 제사를 원하지 아니하노라 ”( 참고 : 마태복음 9:9-13). 저는 이 말씀을 묵상할 때 2 가지 교훈을 받습니다 : (1) 긍휼이 풍성하신 하나님은 그 크신 사랑으로 우리를 사랑하십니다 ( 참고 : 에베소서 2:4). (2) 긍휼이 여기는 우리는 복이 있는 이유는 우리가 긍휼이 여김을 받을 것이기 때문입니다 ( 참고 : 마태복음 5:7).
