A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. “ 오직 나와 내 집은 여호와를 섬기겠노라 ” “ 그러므로 이제는 여호와를 경외하며 온전함과 진실함으로 그를 섬기라 너희의 조상들이 강 저쪽과 애굽에서 섬기던 신들을 치워 버리고 여호와만 섬기라 만일 여호와를 섬기는 것이 너희에게 좋지 않게 보이거든 너희 조상들이 강 저쪽에서 섬기던 신들이든지 또는 너희가 거주하는 땅에 있는 아모리 족속의 신들이든지 너희가 섬길 자를 오늘 택하라 오직 나와 내 집은 여호와를 섬기겠노라 하니 ”( 여호수아 24 장 14-15 절 ). 제가 잊지 못하는 미국 목사님 부부가 계십니다 . 저는 그 목사님 부부가 저희 부부에게 베풀어 주신 하나님의 사랑을 잊지 못합니다 . 특히 저희 부부의 첫째 아기 주영이가 질병으로 중환자실에 누워있었을 때 그 목사님의 사모님은 손수 이불을 짜서 만드셔서 편지와 함께 저희 집으로 보내주셨습니다 . 제 기억으로는 그 사모님께서는 저희 부부의 첫째 아기 주영 (Charis) 이에게 친히 편지를 쓰신 곤 하셨습니다 . 또한 그 목사님은 저희 부부에게 매트 (mat) 를 선물하셨는데 그 매트에는 성경구절 여호수아 14 장 15 절 말씀인 “ 오직 나와 내 집은 여호와를 섬기겠노라 ” 가 써 있습니다 . 실제로 제가 알고 있는 그 미국 목사님 부부는 하나님만을 섬기시다가 하나님의 품 안에 안기셨습니다 . 저는 오늘 여호수아 24 장 14-15 절 말씀과 여호수아 23 장 8, 14-15 절 말씀 중심으로 우리는 어떻게 하나님을 섬겨야 하는 것인지 3 가지로 교훈을 받고자 합니다 . 하나님께서 우리 모두에게 ...
