만일 우리가 스스로 조심하여 우리 하나님을 사랑하므로 하나님을 가까이 하면 하나님께서 우리에게 대하여 말씀하신 모든 선한 말씀이 우리에게 임할 것입니다.  그러나 만일 우리가 하나님보다 사랑하고 가까이 하는 우상을 두면 하나님의 모든 불길한 말씀이 우리에게 임할 것입니다.  순종하면 모든 선한 말씀이불순종하면 모든 불길한 말씀이 신실하게 임할 것입니다(여호수아 23:7-15, 특히 15).
