고난 속에서 감사하지 못하는 이유?
고난은 고통스럽고 괴로운 것입니다. 고통스럽고 괴로울 때 우리는 주로 신음하며 상처와 눈물 속에서 허덕이곤 합니다. 그리곤 우리는 원망까지도 해봅니다. 우리는 사람(들)을 원망합니다. 누구 탓이라도 해야 좀 속이 시원할 것 같아서 원망하곤 합니다. 우리는 사람 탓만 하는 것이 아니라 상황 탓도 합니다. 이렇게 사람 탓, 상황 탓 하면서도 우리는 우리 자신은 잘 탓하지 않습니다. 그 이유는 너무나 괴롭고 고통스러우면 우리 사람은 더욱더 이기적이 되기 때문입니다. 그리고 이기적이되면 우리는 고난이 자기 자신 때문에 왔다고 생각하지 않을 뿐만 아니라 하지도 못합니다. 그러기에 고난 당하는 이기적인 우리는 고난을 통하여 배우지 못합니다. 우리는 고난을 통하여 우리 자신에 대해서 배우지 못할 뿐만 아니라 하나님의 말씀도 배우지 못합니다. 그 결과 우리는 고난 속에서 하나님께 감사하지 못합니다.
