" 너는 네 고향과 친척과 집을 떠나 내가 지시한 땅으로 가거라 " 고 말씀하신 하나님께서는 ( 창세기 12:1, 현대인의 성경 ) 아브라함에게 " 너는 사랑하는 네 외아들 이삭을 데리고 모리아 땅으로 가 네가 지시하는 산에서 그를 나에게 제물로 바쳐라 " 고 말씀하셨습니다 (22:2, 현대인의 성경 ). 하나님께서 지시하신 대로 아내 사래와 조카 롯과 함께 하란을 떠난 나이 75 세였던 아브라함은 (12:4-5, 현대인의 성경 ) 그의 나이 100 세 때 얻은 사랑하는 아들 이삭 (21:5, 현대인의 성경 ) 을 데리고 다음 날 아침 일찍 일어나 나귀에 안장을 지우고 제물을 태울 나무를 준비하여 두 종과 함께 하나님이 지시하신 곳을 향해 떠났습니다 (22:3, 현대인의 성경 ). 우리도 아브라함처럼 믿음으로 하나님께서 우리에게 지시하신 곳으로 가라고 명령하실 때 그대로 순종해야 합니다 ( 히브리서 11:8, 현대인의 성경 ). 또한 우리는 아브라함처럼 시험을 받을 때 하나님께서 죽은 사람들까지도 다시 살리실 수 있다는 믿음으로 우리가 사랑하는 자녀를 바쳐야 합니다 (17, 19 절 , 현대인의 성경 ).
