Conclusion [The Gospel, Living Worthy of the Gospel (The Book of Romans)]

Conclusion       The grace that God has given us is that we have been justified by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ by the preaching of the gospel through the servants of Jesus Christ.   In other words, we have been justified only by believing in Jesus.   Now we are those who are in Christ Jesus.   Therefore, we are no longer under God's wrath and God's judgment, but in God's inseparable love.   And that inseparable love of God has been poured into our hearts.   Therefore, we have become those who love God.   Also, we have become lovers of one another.   We have become people who accept each other.   Also, because we share, we have become people who care for each other.   In other words, we have become the Lord's community of love.   If we have received forgiveness of sins through the death of the Lord Jesus Christ on the cross, we are credited to God for righteousness through His resurrection.   Therefo...

The Gospel of Jesus Christ (The Four Gospels) (Introduction)

Introduction                               I hope and p ray for the gospel of Jesus Christ to be preached.   All of us, Christians, must preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.   We must voluntarily preach the good news of Jesus Christ.   Even if not voluntarily, we are commissioned to preach the gospel.   Therefore, according to the guidance of the Holy Spirit, we must immediately obey in faith and preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.   If we do not preach the gospel, woe is us (1 Corinthians 9:16).                   I thank God for being able to publish a senior pastor Missionary Chang Seh Kim’s first book “The Gospel of God (Romans 5~8)” last year i n commemoration of the 42nd anniversary of the establishment of Victory Presbyterian Church, that he proclaimed ...

The result of justification (12): Rejoice in God (Romans 5:11)

The result of justification (12): Rejoice in God     “Not only is this so, but we also rejoice in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received reconciliation.” (Romans 5:11)                        The Apostle Paul already said in Romans 5:2, “… And we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”   He also said in verse 3, “… we also rejoice in our sufferings ….”   And in verse 11, Paul again said, “… we also rejoice in God.”   When we fell short of the glory of God because of our sins (3:23), we were justified by faith through our Lord Jesus Christ (5:1-2).   Although we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of Jesus Christ, the Son of God (v. 10), and we have peace with God (v. 1).   Through our Lord Jesus Christ (vv. 1, 2) we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand (v. 2). ...

The result of justification (7): Giving us hope that does not disappoints us (Romans 5:5)

The result of justification (7): Giving us hope that does not disappoints us     “And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.” (Romans 5:5)                     The Bible says that hope does not disappoint us (Rom.5:5).   To what does “hope” refer here?   It refers to hope that starts with “the hope for the glory of God” (v. 2), and ends with character, that is produced by perseverance which is produced by suffering (vv. 3-4).   Hope for the glory of God is something that even new believers can hope for.   But suffering produces perseverance, perseverance is character, character hope is the hope among hopes, and the fulfillment of hope that mature Christians hope for.   The Bible says that this hope does not disappoint us (v. 5).   Hope does not disappoint us because i...

The result of justification (4): Rejoice in sufferings (Romans 5:3-4)

The result of justification (4): Rejoice in sufferings     “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.” (Romans 5:3-4)                      Here, “Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings” (Rom. 5:3), “only this” refers to Romans 5:2b “And we rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”   In other words, it is not just about rejoicing in hope of the glory of God.   Here, “the glory of God” is Jesus Christ, who will come again in the glory of God that we hope for.   In John 19:30, the Bible says, “It is finished”.   This is the sixth word of Jesus on the cross.   What have He accomplished?   That is our redemption.   Redemption here means that Jesus Christ shed His blood to pay for all our sins with His life (crucifixion) to redeem us a...
