“ 율법이 죄냐 ” (1)         [ 로마서 7 장 7-13 절 ]     지난 주 수요예배 때 우리는 로마서 7 장 5-6 절 말씀을 묵상했었습니다 .   이 말씀은 어려운 말씀이지만 매우 중요한 말씀입니다 .   로마서 7 장 5 절을 보면 사도 바울은 “ 우리가 육신에 있을 때에는 ”(5 절 ) 라고 말씀했는데 여기서 “ 육신 ” 이란 죄가 있는 육신을 말합니다 .   즉 , “ 육신에 있을 때에 ” 란 예수님을 믿기 전에 죄의 종 ( 죄인 ) 으로서 모든 지체가 다 죄로 인해서 사망에 이르는 열매를 맺고 있었던 때를 말합니다 .   여기서 “ 육신 ”(7:5) 은 로마서 1 장 3 절에서 하나님의 아들이신 예수 그리스도가 “ 육신으로는 다윗의 혈통에서 나셨 ” 다는 말씀에서의 “ 육신 ” 과 반대입니다 .   즉 , 로마서 1 장 3 절에서 말씀하고 있는 “ 육신 ” 은 죄와는 아무 관계가 없는 육신으로서 예수 그리스도께서는 죄가 없으신 의인이심을 말씀하고 있습니다 .   로마서 7 장 6 절을 보면 “ 이제는 ” 이란 단어로 시작하는데 그 단어는 삼증으로 강한 뜻을 표현하고 있습니다 .   그 뿐만 아니라 “ 이제는 ” 이란 단어의 원어 헬라어인 “νυν ὶ ”(nyni) 또한 강조를 표현하고 있습니다 .   그리고 원어 헬라어를 보면 “ 이제는 ” 이란 단어 앞에 “ 그러나 ”(δ ὲ )( However ) 란 단어가 있어서 5 절 말씀인 “ 우리가 육신에 있을 때에 ” 와 대조를 표현하고 있습니다 .   즉 , 6 절 말씀은 5 절 말씀과 대조적인 말씀으로서 5 절은 “ 우리가 육신에 있을 때에 ” “ 율법으로 말미암는 죄의 정욕이 우리 지체 중에 역사하여 우리로 사망을 위하여 열매를 맺게 하였 ” 지만 6 절에 와서는 “ 그러나 이제는 ” “ 우리가 얽매였던 율법에 대하여 ...

Whose actions should we focus on in our spiritual life?   Focusing on my own actions in my spiritual life is very dangerous. The reason is that if I look at my righteous deeds, I may rely on my own self-righteousness instead of the righteousness of Jesus. Similarly, if I look at my sinful actions, I might struggle with guilt due to my own unrighteousness, neglecting to rely on Jesus, who shed His blood on the cross for my sins. Therefore, I must always focus on the actions of Jesus on the cross and live by faith (While reading Romans 9:11).

Who can …   Who can be against us?               Since God is for us! (Rom. 8:31)   Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen?             Since it is God who justifies! (v. 33)   Who is he that condemns?             Since Jesus Christ, who died – more than that, who was raised to life – Is at the right had of God and is also interceding for us (v. 34)   Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? (v. 35)             Nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord (v. 39).

"I will pray all my life."     In the midst of the crisis of life and facing great suffering and sorrow due to affliction (Ps. 116:3, 8, 10), when I am in distress (v. 6), shedding tears from my eyes, and my feet about to stumble (v. 8), I pray in the name of God: "Save my soul" (v. 4).   In those moments, God listens to my voice and my supplication (v. 1) and delivered me (v. 6). "The Lord saved my soul from death, my eyes from tears, and my feet from stumbling" (v. 8). Moreover, the Lord grants me peace and upholds me (v. 7).   Therefore, I love the Lord (v. 1). I will pray all my life (v. 2). I declare the Lord's deity: "The Lord is gracious, righteous, and abounding in mercy, our God is full of compassion" (v. 5). When I think that I am now suffering because of the sins I have committed ...     When I think that I am currently suffering because of the sins I have committed, what should I do? I turn to the lessons from David's repentance in Psalm 143. David's soul was troubled within him, and his heart was dismayed because of his sins, causing his enemies to persecute his soul (v. 3). He felt distressed within himself (v. 4).   David found himself in deep despair, losing hope and feeling as though he were like those long dead (v. 4). In that moment, David sought the Lord, raising his hands in prayer (v. 6), expressing his longing and supplication to God (v. 1).   How did David pray to God? If I were to summarize my life in two words ...     When I look back on my life, I believe it can be summarized in two words: "Eliezer" and "Ebenezer":   "Eliezer" – ‘My God is my helper’ (Exod. 18:4). "Ebenezer" – ‘Thus far the Lord has helped us/ (1 Sam. 7:12).
