The key to prayer answered …

The key to prayer answered is

to obey the commandments of the Lord,

to do what pleases Him before His presence,

and to pray while doing so (1 Jn. 3:22).

In other words, the key to prayer answered is

to obey the commandments of the Lord,

loving one another as the Lord delights,

and praying to God while loving one another.

[Note: Here, "loving one another" (2:9; 3:11, 18, 23, 24) is understood to mean

(1)    shining light (1:5),

(2)    walking in truth (v. 6),

(3)    practicing righteousness' (2:29; 3:12).]
