What Is Biblical Mission?

A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. The Beauty of a Christian

The Beauty of a Christian

When Jesus entered Jerusalem,

a large crowd gathered to celebrate the Passover.

They went out to meet Him, holding palm branches and shouting,

"Hosanna!  Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord,

even the King of Israel!" (Jn. 12:13).

Here, the palm branches symbolize righteousness, beauty, and victory.

The large crowd regarded Jesus as the victorious King of Israel,

expecting Him to bring about political liberation from the Roman government,

economic prosperity, and social justice by practicing righteousness.

This was the beauty they saw in Jesus.

They believed that He would free them from Roman rule (political liberation),

bring economic prosperity, and establish social justice.

This was the beauty they envisioned in Jesus.

However, what was the beauty that God the Father saw

in "My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased," Jesus Christ?

It was His obedience to the will of the Father unto death (Phil. 2:8).

This is the beauty of Jesus Christ as seen by God the Father.

We should emulate this beauty of Jesus.

As Christians, we should follow the example of Jesus

and obediently submit to the will of the Lord even unto death.

This is the beauty of us as Christians.
