Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 지나치게 인정받고 싶어하는 욕구




모든 일을 지혜롭게(성공적으로) 행하므로(삼상18:14, 15, 30) 사람들에게 인정 받는 것은 좋겠지만 내가 하나님께로부터 멀어질 정도로 그들에게 인정을 받고자 하는 욕구가  마음에 생기는 것은 매우 경계하자.
