사도 바울은 신자들에게 존경을 받고 있었던 디모데와 함께 선교 사역을 감당한 것을 불 때에 복음 전도 선교 사역을 함에 있어서 신자들에게 존경을 받는 사람과 함께 팀 사역을 해야 한다는 생각을 하게 됩니다(사도행전 16:1-2, 현대인의 성경).
