그러므로 우리는 깨어 있어야 하며 또한 준비하고 있어야 합니다 . 예수님께서 다시 오시는 그 날과 시간은 아무도 모르고 오직 하나님 아버지만 아십니다 . 예수님께서 오실 때에는 세상이 노아의 시대와 같을 것입니다 . 홍수 이전 사람들은 노아가 배에 들어가는 날까지 먹고 마시고 장가가고 시집가다가 홍수가 나서 그들을 다 쓸어버릴 때까지도 그런 일이 일어나리라고는 전혀 예상하지 못했습니다 . 마찬가지로 예수님께서 오실 때에도 그럴 것입니다 . 그러므로 우리는 깨어 있어야 하며 또한 준비하고 있어야 합니다 . 그 이유는 생각하지 않은 때에 예수님께서 다시 오실 것이기 때문입니다 ( 마태복음 24:36-39, 42-44, 현대인의 성경 ).
