The result of justification (9): God demonstrating his own love for us     “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)                     When Romans 5:8 says “While we were still sinners” refers to the past, before we believed in Jesus and before we were justified by faith (v. 1).   Now, as believers in Jesus, we have been justified by His blood (v. 9).   And when the Bible speaks of “sinners,” what is “sin” here?   The Bible speaks of “sin” in four ways:                    First, sin is illegal.   In other words, to sin is to break the law.                   Look at 1 John 3:4 – “Everyone who sins breaks the law; in fact, s...
