God’s Guidance         “For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end” (Psalms 48:14).     In the maze of life, we earnestly seek the guidance of God, the merciful God who leads us.   He is the God who guides us with abundant mercy.   However, we should reflect on whether we acknowledge God's guidance or live our daily lives without recognizing it.   Just as the Israelites, after crossing the Red Sea, made a golden calf while Moses went up to Mount Sinai to meet God, calling the calf the 'God' who led them out of Egypt, we often live lives that deny God's guidance despite receiving it.   Nevertheless, God, in His great mercy, continues to illuminate our path and guides us through the indwelling Holy Spirit, who teaches us all the good teachings of Jesus.   Moreover, Jesus, our shepherd, nurtures us, ensuring that we lack nothing and empowering us to run vigorously toward the promised...

Those who are being led by the Holy Spirit (3)           [Romans 8:14-17]                      Third, let us think about the Holy Spirit who Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.   Look at Romans 8:16 – “The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God.”   The Apostle Paul speaks of the Holy Spirit (v. 16).   Who is the Holy Spirit?   The Holy Spirit is God.   And the Holy Spirit has attributes/dispositions that only God has.   Those attributes/dispositions can be thought of in three ways: (1) God the Holy Spirit is eternal.   Look at Hebrews 9:14 – “ how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”   The Bible refers to the Holy Spirit as the ...

Those who are being led by the Holy Spirit (1)           [Romans 8:14-17]                      Look at Romans 8:14-17: “For all who are being led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.   For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father!’   The Spirit Himself testifies with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.”   Based on these words, I want to think about three things: (1) The sons of God (v. 14), (2) The cry of “Abba!
