Devotional Reflection Based on the Incident of Peter Cutting Off Malchus's Ear: “Then one of those standing near drew his sword and struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his ear.” ( Mark 14:47, Today's Korean Version ) 1. Identifying the People Involved: The person who stood beside Jesus and drew the sword was Simon Peter . The servant of the high priest was named Malchus . “Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. The servant’s name was Malchus.” ( John 18:10 ) 2. 하나님께서 사랑하시사 창세 전에 선택한 사람들을 부르시사 구원에 이르게 하십니다.  하나님께서 구원에 이르게 하시고자 부르신 사람들은 하나님께서 미리 정하셨습니다(8:30)[(예정) (1:4-5; 8:29)].  하나님께서 미리 예정하신 사람들을 구원에 이르게 하시고자 부르신 사람들을 먼저 성령님의 거룩하게 하심, 중생하게 하십니다.  이러한 성령님의 중생의 필연적 결과로 따르는 것은 회심이요  회심에는 회개적 요소와 신앙적 요소가 있습니다.  하나님께서 우리를 구원하신 것은 오직 예수 그리스도 안에서 우리에게 주신 하나님의 전적인 은혜입니다( 2:8-9)(인터넷 참고).
