We are taught that we must become upright people who, in God’s sight, are blameless and fully keep His commandments. “In the time of Herod king of Judea there was a priest named Zechariah, who belonged to the priestly division of Abijah; his wife Elizabeth was also a descendant of Aaron. Both of them were righteous in the sight of God, observing all the Lord’s commands and decrees blamelessly” [(Modern Translation: “When Herod was king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah of the division of Abijah, and his wife Elizabeth also came from the family of Aaron. They were righteous before God and faithfully kept all the Lord’s commandments and regulations without fault”)] (Luke 1:5–6). [ 잠언 21 장 21-31 절 말씀 묵상 ] 2013 년 12 월을 맞이해서 이 한 해를 뒤돌아 보는 가운데 얼마전 새벽기도회 때 데살로니가전서 2 장 1 절을 묵상하게 되었습니다 . “ 형제들아 우리가 너희 가운데 들어간 것이 헛되지 않은 줄을 너희가 친히 아나니 ”( You know, brothers, that our visit to you was not a failure ). 이 말씀을 묵상하는 가운데 제 나름대로 이 한해를 이렇게 결산하게 되었습니다 : ‘ 나는 이 한해를 헛되게 하였다 ( 실패하였다 ).’ 한국어 성경에는 사도 바울이 데살로니가 교회 성도들에게 편지를 쓰면서 자기와 동역자가 그 교회에 방문한 것이 헛되지 않았다고 말하고 있는데 영어 성경에는 ‘ 실패하지 않았다 ’( was not a failure ) 고 말하고 있습니다 . 그런데 저는 이 한 해를 뒤돌아 볼 때 나 자신과 죄악과 세상과 사단과 싸워 승리하지 못하고 수 없이 패배한 것을 생각할 때 ‘ 나는 이 한 해를 실패했다 ’ 는 고백을 할 수 밖에 없었습니다 . 왜 나는 영적 싸움에서 이렇게 패배한 것인가 생각해 보는 가운데 오늘 본문 잠언 21 장 31 절 말씀을 묵상하게 되었습니다 . 오늘 본문 잠언 21 장 31 절을 보면 성경은 이렇게 말씀하고 있습니다 : “ 싸울 날을 위하여 마병을 예비하거니와 이김은 여호와께 있느니라 ”( The horse is prepared for the day of battle, But victory belongs to the LORD ). 오늘 이 말씀 중심으로 “ 이김은 여호와께 ...
