God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 하나님께서 우리에게 원하시는 헌신은 무엇일까?
헌신하라. 삶을 받치라.
왜 하나님께서는 아브라함에게 이삭을 받치라고 하신 것일까요? 아브라함에게 있어서 제일 귀하고 사랑하는 아들이기에. 그 의미는 하나님께서는 ‘너가 나를 이삭보다 사랑하느냐?’이다. 요한복음 21장 15절 – “요한의 아들 시몬아 네가 이 사람들보다 나를 더 사랑하느냐.” 하나님께서는 우리가 제일 귀하게 여기고 사랑하는 사람을 받치길 원하신다. 하나님은 항상 우리에게 제일 첫번째가 되길 원하신다. 과연 하나님은 나의 삶의 첫번째인가?
그런데 말라기 선지자 시대 때 이스라엘 백성들은 하나님께 “더러운 떡”과 “눈 먼 희생제물”, “저는 것”, “병든 것”, “훔친 물건”을 드렸다(말1:7-8, 13). 이러한 봉헌물(13절)은 하나님께서 받지 않으셨다(8, 10, 13절). 그 뿐만 아니라 하나님께서 그러한 봉헌물을 드렸던 이스라엘 백성들도 받지 않으셨다(9절).
“주 예수 보다 더 귀한 것은 없네 …”라고 하나님께 진심으로 찬양드리는 자는 아브라함이 제일 귀하고 제일 사랑하는 아들 이삭을 하나님께 받쳤던 것처럼 우리도 주님께 우리가 제일 귀중히 여기고 사랑하는 사람을 받친다. 받치되 “여호와 이례”(여호와의 산에서 준비되리라)를 믿고 받친다.
