A. What Is Biblical Mission? “Biblical mission means more than simply going overseas to plant churches or spread civilization. It means the church participating in the ‘mission of God (Missio Dei)’ and seeking the restoration of God’s rule and glory throughout the whole earth. Mission is not a program that begins with human enthusiasm; rather, it is the heart of God that runs throughout the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation, and is a fundamental reason for the church’s existence. Let me clearly summarize five essential principles of true mission as presented in Scripture. 🌍 1. The Mission of God (Missio Dei) The subject and initiator of mission is not human beings but God. In order to save fallen humanity, God first comes to us, sends His Son, and sends the Holy Spirit. He is the “missionary God” who sends. “’샬롬!’이라고 인사하는 것은 상대방에게
“건강하십시오. 승리하시고 사랑과 우애가 넘치시고 평화와 화평을 누리시기
바랍니다. 정의롭고 조화로운 풍성한
삶을 기원합니다”라고 하는 축복의 인사인 것입니다. 그러나 지금 우리는
샬롬이 깨어진 세계에 살고 있습니다. 갈등과 대결, 분열과 분쟁, 편견과 편가름,
독선과 아집, 이기심과 탐욕으로 조화는 깨져서 샬롬이 없는 세상에서 우리는 예수님의
말씀대로 화평케 하는 자가 돼야 합니다(마5:9) (박준서). 우리가 적극적인 의지를 가지고 샬롬을 이루기 위해서 최선을
다해 힘쓰고 노력해야 합니다. 교회란 공동체 안에는 화평케 하는 자(peace-maker),
(2) 화평을 깨는 자(peace-breaker), (3) 화평을 지키는 자(peace-keeper)가 있습니다. 우리는
화평을 깨는자가 되어서는 아니됩니다. 우리는 화평케 하는 자들이 돼야 하며 또한 화평을 지키는 자가 돼야 합니다. 교회란 공동체 안에는 평안(Shalom)이 있어야 합니다. 우리는
공동체의 한 일원(지체)으로서 평안의 매는 줄로 성령이 하나 되게 하신
것을 힘써 지켜야 합니다(엡 4:3).
