음식 자체는 더럽지 않다는 것이 사실인데 그 음식을 더럽다고 생각하는 사람에게는 그 음식이 더럽다는 자신의 생각이 옳다고 생각할 것입니다.  이렇게 사실에 근거하지 않은 옳치 않은 생각을 가진 사람은 교회 안에서도 비난의 대상이 될 수 있습니다.  그러나 성경은 "여러분이 옳다고 생각하는 것이 비난의 대상이 되지 않게 하십시오"라고 말씀하고 있습니다(로마서 14:14-16, 현대인의 성경).
