원수까지도 사랑?
요셉은 그의 나이 39살 때 (30살 때 애굽의 총리 + 7년 풍년 + 2년째 흉년 때 형들에게 자기 자신이 요셉임을 밝히고 하나님의 뜻을 말함 = 39살) 자기 형제들에게 자기가 요셉임을 밝였을 뿐만 아니라 하나님께서 왜 자기를 그들보다 앞서 애굽에 보내셨는지 깨달은 하나님의 뜻을 말하였습니다:
".... 하나님이 생명을 구원하시려고 ...", "... 하나님이 큰 구원으로 당신들의 생명을 보존하고 당신들의 후손을 세상에 두시려고 ..."(창세기 45:5, 7).
그리고 요셉은 그의 나이 110세에 죽을 때까지(50:22) 자그만치 71년 동안 자기를 미워하여 죽이려고까지 했다가 자기를 판 형들과 그들의 자녀들을 기릅니다(21절).
저는 이 요셉의 삶과 죽음을 생각할 때 진정한 요셉이 되시는 예수님이 생각났습니다. 하나나님과 원수된 우리 죄인들(로마서 5:8, 10)의 생명을 구원하시려고 십자가에 죽으시기까지 우리의 모든 죄를 용서해 주시고 사랑해주신 예수님, 그 예수님의 계명인 "너희 원수를 사랑하며 너희를 박해하는 자를 위하여 기도하라"(마태복음 5:44)는 말씀이 생각났습니다. 비록 저의 본능은 나의 원수를 사랑하는 것이 아니라 미워하는 것이요 복수하는 것이지만 내 안에 거하시사 "자기의 기쁘신 뜻을 위하여 너희(저)에게 소원을 두고 행하게 하시"는 하나님(빌립보서 2:13)으로 말미암아 요셉처럼, 예수님처럼 원수까지도 사랑하는 삶을 살기를 기원합니다.
