에바브로디도처럼 자기가 병든 것을 여러분이 알게 되었다고 걱정하는 사람, 여러분 모두를 그리워하고 있는 사람, 여러분이 그를 다시 보게 되면 기뻐할 사람, 멀리 있는 여러분을 대신해서 나를 도우려고 위험을 무릅쓰고 그리스도의 일을 하다가 죽을 뻔하기까지 한 사람, 그런 사람을 여러분은 주님 안에서 기쁨으로 맞아들이고 또 그와 같은 사람들을 존경하십시오(빌립보서 2:25-30, 현대인의 성경).
