God’s love, which is stronger than death, is causing me to continue walking the path of the mission the Lord has given me (John 6:1–15). “At that very time some Pharisees came and said to Him, ‘Leave this place and go somewhere else. Herod wants to kill You.’ He replied, ‘Go tell that fox, “I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.” In any case, I must press on today and tomorrow and the next day—for surely no prophet can die outside Jerusalem! Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, and you were not willing. 고난의 길을 걸어가는 예수님의 조용한 증인들
예수님을 섬기며 갈릴리에서 골고다 언덕까지[그 길을 가리켜 ‘고난의 길’(라틴어: Via Dolorossa)이라고 부른다고 함(약 1.2 km, 0.7mile)(인터넷)] 따라온 많은 여자들도 멀리서 예수님께서 십자가상에서 다시 크게 소리를 지르시고 숨을 거두시는 모습을 바라보았습니다.
그들 가운데는 막달라 마리아, 야고보와 요셉의 어머니 마리아, 세베대의 아내가 있었습니다(마태복음 27:50, 55-56, 현대인의 성경).
이 여인들은 자기들의 소유로 제자들과 예수님의 쓸 것을 돕고 또 천국복음을 듣기 위해 예수님을 따라다니곤 했습니다(누가복음 8:2, 3). 실로 예수님께 대한 그들의 헌신적 노력과 사랑은 죽음도 불사하는 것이었습니다. 진정 온전한 사랑은 두려움을 극복하는 법입니다(요한일서 4:18). 예수님이 체포되자 죽기까지 예수님을 쫓겠다던 제자들은 하나같이 달아났고(26:57), 특히 가장 열심있는 자로 자처하던 베드로마저 예수님을 부인하고 말았습니다(26:69-75). 그런 와중에 갈릴리 전도 사역 때부터 예수의 쓸 것을 돕기 위해 예수를 따라다니던 여인들은 예수님의 마지막 예루살렘 여정에 동참했으며 또 온전한 사랑으로 모든 두려움을 극복하고 처절한 예수님의 최후를 타는 가슴으로 지켜보게 된 것입니다. 실로 그 여인들은 예수님께 대한 숨은 봉사자들이었으며 예수의 생과 사의 조용한 중인들이었습니다(호크마, 인터넷).
